The British Menopause Society found that 50% of women said their menopause symptoms affected their home life. Any change in the dynamics of a relationship can lead to an increase in severity or frequency of domestic abuse” AVA IRISi Interventions (2021).

What Is Domestic Abuse?

Domestic abuse refers to incidents including and not limited to coercive control, threatening and/or violent behaviour , physical and/or sexual abuse, psychological, emotional abuse and financial abuse. In the majority of cases, domestic abuse is performed by a partner, ex-partner, family member or carer.

What Can I Do?

If you are experiencing domestic violence, you are not alone. Please tell someone you trust as soon as possible for example the police, your GP, a friend, a relative or a work colleague to provide support.
